“Dua is a weapon of a believer, a pillar of religion and a light of the heavens and the earth” [al-Hakim]

Making dua is an art.
It requires deep contemplation, consideration and purpose.
Whilst making dua, we are having a direct conversation with Allah swt, we are declaring His ultimate power and our ultimate submission to Him.
There is nothing more indicative of humility than the action of dua and dhikr. We acknowledge that without Allah swt, we are without all else.
We protect our hearts and our homes with His mention and ask for sustinance from Him alone.
Even in giving thanks we are declaring His power.
