To my own nafs I say,

Give from what Allah has blessed you with

Convince your stubborn self and Allah will be pleased with you

What more do we need if He is happy with us

What you give is what stays with you in the eternal life

And what you spend for your own desires disappears as soon as it is used

What you have is not yours, it is truly from Allah and He can take it back at anytime

You might be an answer to a desperate prayer

Made by one who is in need

You will be asked, o nafs, what have you done with every single thing you were blessed with

So give and give only seeking the pleasure of Allah.
